Learning Log 3
Dear Mrs. Woo,
Prediction… The word prediction always seems to ring in my mind but never had I once believe in it as I believed that our future is unpredictable and also partially because we can change the prediction by working hard and do things the other way round. For example, Raymond’s mother had predicted that he would not get ‘A’s but once he worked hard, he can still get ‘A’s if he worked hard enough. The word prediction simply means forecast or prophesy.
I have learnt that some predict are just myth, while some are true. Although there are fortune tellers in this world but some of them are just out to cheat people’s money just like our classmate Chor Mui’s grandmother. Some fortune tellers predicted that the world will end in year 2012. But we could not prove it until the future arrives. :(
I have also learnt that predictions could be quite misleading at times. Just like our classmate, Shaarkirah, when her mother was conceiving here, her mother predicted that she was a boy and decided to name her Shakir but when she was given birth, her mother then found out that she was a girl and so her name was named Shaarkirah. :)
Today we were asked to share the predictions we had collected from our class. Most of us made up those predictions as we did not encounter any of those before. But almost half the class had those prediction that were true and the other half of the class had their prediction made out. I think that Mrs. Woo had planned this lesson because t has something to do with macbeth. I think this is a good idea as we can learn more about prediction and macbeth at one go. :)
Last but not least, I hope that the following lessons will get more fun. :)
